The Animal House was a 300+ year old, dilapidated house, right in the center of the Frisian port city of Harlingen. The upper floor was used as a clubhouse from 1987 to 1990. The stories in this book are a mixture of real events and strong, imaginative stories told by those who regularly came to the Animal House. All this intertwined with humorous absurdities befitting the characters that took place both inside and outside the clubhouse. In the Animal House, the discussions were mostly very stupid and quite exaggerated. There are word spellings and distorted words in the stories that are not typing or printing errors. The characters of the characters are not based on reality.
